The 32nd South-East Asian (SEA) Games and a number of outstanding Cambodian athletes are set to be enshrined at the Win-Win Monument to be cherished by future generations, according to Prime Minister Hun Sen.

A May 19 Cabinet session decided that memories of the historic SEA Games – the first to be held on Cambodian soil in its 64-year history – and the slogans used therein will be preserved at the monument, according to the meeting’s minutes.

The government will also collect and archive videos of the Games, including those of the opening and closing ceremonies, and all events in between.

Cambodia’s “magnificent and successful” hosting of the SEA Games from May 5-17, according to Hun Sen, was in step with Asean Community developments and could serve as a template for future editions of the premier biennial regional athletic event.

Cambodian athletes also made history this year, taking home the most medals ever won by the Kingdom with 282 total, including 81 golds.
