Italian President Sergio Mattarella Invited to Visit Vietnam

President Thuong appreciated Ambassador Alessandro making practical contributions to strengthening Vietnam – Italy relations during his working term, especially to arranging the president’s recent visit to Italy.

He recalled his working trip to Rome where he was warmly welcomed by Mattarella, other Italian officials and people. He said he had held successful talks with the Italian president, reviewing positive developments in Vietnam – Italy relations and hammering out measures to ramp up bilateral cooperation in various areas, from politics to economy, trade, investment, culture and people-to-people exchanges.

Ambassador Alessandro for his part emphasized that President Thuong’s working trip to Italy has marked a turning point in the relations between the two countries. He said President Mattarella was very impressed with the results of his talks and meetings with President Thuong in Rome as well as the dynamic development of Vietnam.

The Ambassador thanked Vietnamese authorities, ministries, agencies and localities for their cooperation and assistance to help him complete his tasks well.

On this occasion, President Thuong presented the Vietnamese Friendship Order to Ambassador Antonio Alessandro in recognition of his practical contributions to promoting the friendship and cooperative relations between the two countries.
