Traffic Accidents in Vietnam Down in 7 Months

A total of 5,928 traffic accidents occurred in the first seven months of this year in Vietnam, with 3,428 people dead, 2,377 severely injured and 1,740 slightly injured, according to the country’s General Statistics Office on Wednesday.

The numbers of traffic accidents, deaths and light injuries decreased by 9.3 percent, 9.4 percent and 11.8 percent year on year, respectively, while the number of severe injuries increased 4.1 percent year on year.

On average, in the seven-month period, Vietnam saw 28 traffic accidents per day, which claimed 16 lives and injured 19 people.
