SkyTeam alliance member Vietnam Airlines will launch a thrice-weekly Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC)-Perth route on 7 December.
This will be the airline’s fifth route between Vietnam and Australia.

This will be the first nonstop service between Perth and Vietnam.
The announcement of this new service coincides with the 78th National Day of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and the 50th anniversary of Australia-Vietnam diplomatic relations.
“In line with our strategy to expand Vietnam Airlines flight network to Australia, Perth has been chosen right after Sydney and Melbourne. With the Western Australians’ love to travel and un-wind after a hard-working bout, Vietnam Airlines’ new, non-stop service between Ho Chi Minh City and Perth will help bring Western Australians to numerous famous tourist spots in Vietnam, travelling beyond Vietnam will also be made easy thanks to convenient connecting from Ho Chi Minh City to Europe and North East Asia on Vietnam Airlines expanding flight network,” commented Vietnam Airlines general manager for Australia, Nguyen Huu Tung.
