Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang visited Egypt from November 28-29 and met with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty. The two co-chaired the 10th political consultation between their ministries, highlighting the growing cooperation between the two countries.
Both sides acknowledged significant progress in their partnership, especially in the areas of trade, economy, and investment. More Vietnamese businesses are showing interest in Egypt’s market, reflecting a positive trend in bilateral relations.
Minister Abdelatty praised Vietnam’s achievements and expressed eagerness to deepen cooperation in various sectors. He emphasized Egypt’s strategic location and large market, encouraging Vietnamese companies to explore investment opportunities there.
Hang noted the 60+ years of Vietnam-Egypt relations and proposed boosting collaboration in new areas such as renewable energy, Halal products, food security, and fisheries. She suggested enhancing business connections and exploring a free trade agreement to strengthen ties.
The two ministers also discussed regional issues, including the Middle East conflict and the East Sea. They agreed to promote peace and multilateralism, supporting ASEAN’s position on peaceful dispute resolution and adherence to international law.
